Description: The in-person Minnesota Permit to Carry class is for students who enjoy a more traditional learning environment. Your instructor will present a comprehensive 1-hour course presentation that will give you the knowledge you need to own and carry a firearm responsibly. Immediately following the course presentation, students complete a live fire qualification that is beginner-friendly and focused on safe handling and firing of the provided firearm. After completing the live fire qualification, your instructor will give you your certificate of completion, which is required when you apply for your permit to carry.

Duration: 2 hours

Experience Level: Beginner to seasoned permit holder

Minimum Age Requirement: 21 years old

Minnesota law allows individuals 18 years of age or older to apply for a Minnesota Permit to Carry. However, our company policy requires students taking this course to be at least 21 years old. Exceptions may be considered for active-duty military or qualifying service members. Please contact us in advance to confirm eligibility if you believe you qualify for an exception.

Location: Both the course presentation and the live fire qualification take place at Joe’s Gun Shop (inside Joe’s Sporting Goods) in St. Paul.
