About Our Company
At Conceal and Carry MN, our story began with a commitment to streamline the permit to carry process after our founder experienced a lengthy six-hour session with unnecessary add-on prices. We believe in cutting through the clutter and meeting the state’s requirements in a short, informative, and friendly manner. Our philosophy is simple: we value your time. We firmly believe that in-person permit classes should not exceed two hours, and online sessions should be completed within one hour, followed by a brief five-minute live fire qualification at the range.
We understand the difference between a permit to carry class that gives you an understanding of the laws and where you demonstrate safe handling of a firearm, versus next level training. That’s why we offer private lessons, ensuring you receive the necessary training to defend yourself and your family confidently. Plus, enjoy a discounted rate on private lessons after taking one of our permit classes. Welcome to a new era of efficient and effective training at Conceal and Carry MN!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept cash payments?
No, we do not accept cash payments. All class registrations and payments must be completed online. If you need assistance, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help!
Is Conceal and Carry MN a legit company?
Yes! We are approved by the Minnesota BCA, and your firearms instructor is certified to provide training. Therefore, a sheriff must accept this training when you apply for your permit. We make it easy to obtain the required training to apply for your MN Permit to Carry. It doesn’t need to be complicated; our students love the convenience!
Why isn’t there a test?
The State of Minnesota doesn’t require a written exam; therefore, neither do we. The only requirement is the successful completion of a shooting qualification exercise. You can read the state statutes if you’d like, or you can take our word for it!
We require that students have the ability to demonstrate safe handling and use of a firearm. Your instructor will ensure that you have what you need to do this.
What should I bring to my permit to carry class?
Please remember to bring a valid form of identification and wear closed-toe shoes for safety purposes.
Is a firearm and ammunition provided?
Absolutely! We provide a .22 caliber Glock or Beretta pistol for your use during the class, at no extra charge.
Can I bring my own firearm and ammunition if I prefer?
To ensure the efficiency and safety of the class, students are required to use the provided firearm and should not bring their own.
Where are the classes conducted?
We are the proud training partner of Joe’s Sporting Goods! Our classes are held in St. Paul at Joe’s Gun Shop, located inside Joe’s Sporting Goods. Both classroom instruction and live fire shooting exercises take place at this location.
How long does the permit to carry course take?
The classroom portion typically lasts for about 1 hour, while the live fire session usually ranges between 5 to 15 minutes per student.
How do I apply for my permit to carry?
After receiving your certificate of completion from a Minnesota BCA-approved instructor, you’ll need to fill out the MN permit to carry application. Then, simply apply in person at the sheriff’s office of the county where you reside. If you’re not a resident of Minnesota, you can apply at any county Sheriff’s office. View more details on how to apply.
